Planographic Printmaking

Year: 2025

Genre: Editorial Design, Poster Design

Platform: Monoprint with Stencils, Transfer Print, Chine-collé, Lithography, Silkscreen

Planographic printmaking is a flat-surface printing method where the image and non-image areas are on the same level. Techniques like monoprint, lithography, silkscreen, and transfer print rely on separating oil and water or stencil-based methods to create layered, detailed images.

My project explores the theme “Purple / I Purple You / Things I Like Related to Purple,” combining anime and BTS references with symbolic use of purple. Works include a wisteria flower stencil inspired by Demon Slayer, BTS concert photos in lithography, and emotional text layered through chine-collé.

The final combo print features lyrics from Yet to Come and mirrored images of BTS, symbolizing memory and hope—all unified by purple as a personal symbol of love, creativity, and connection.
